About the role

Due to significant business growth and an expanding portfolio of cutting-edged technologies, we are pleased to announce that we are now seeking applications for the role of Sales Specialist – Digital Solutions Orebody Intelligence.

Orica’s Orebody Intelligence portfolio develops geological measurement hardware, software, and data analytic products used throughout the mining & exploration industry.

Sales Specialist – Digital Solutions will be accountable for increasing Orica’s Orebody Intellignece market share client base whilst assisting existing and new customers to optimise their operations through the use of the Digital Solutions portfolio of products and services in the South East Asian market.

The role will be based in Indonesia. The region of responsibility encompasses Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Laos and others as required.

The ability to travel locally and internationally is required.

What you will be doing

  • Securing new digital sales in the South East Asia region by correctly matching customer needs with our expanding range of Digital Solutions;
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to leverage Orica’s digital capabilities in order to match the commercial targets of the region in relation to sales and growth
  • Working with technology specialists and product owners to continuously improve our offering and customer experience by incorporating customer feedback;
  • Meeting at customer sites and offices to introduce Orica’s digital solutions portfolio and demonstrate the value for customers, including new technology developments;
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for digital offerings as part of Orica’s differentiated services, including novel uses of technology to improve our customer’s operations;
  • Co-ordinate sales effort with other team members and the Axis agents in the region;
  • Tracking, managing, tendering and reporting on new business opportunities and opportunity pipelines;
  • Understanding the competitor landscape and pricing policies.

What you will bring

  • Proven sales experience in the mining industry in South East Asia;
  • Some technical knowledge of down-hole instrumentation (Magnetic Survey tool or similar) more specific training will be provided by Axis part of Orica Digital Solutions;
  • Significant commercial acumen, including both sales and marketing experience ideally in the mining or technology sectors;
  • Ability to create and nurture opportunities at existing and new customer sites;
  • A background and deep understanding of the benefits of digital technology;
  • An understanding of key value drivers within the mining process;
  • Experience and knowledge in drill and blast (highly advantageous);
  • Strong background in Drill Hole Survey Equipment (highly advantageous).
