Job Description
Job Overview:
Leads the fabrication yard construction effort for their defined scope of work. Plans, directs and leads the construction effort in applying the most cost-effective plan to completion and to lead the execution of that plan in accordance with our Corporate and Area guidelines and operating standards. Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day fabrication management of the project principally through the forecast and control of multi discipline labor. Responsible for implementation and co-ordination of the scope of work as related to construction, pre-commissioning and loadout of the facilities in conformance with the requirements of the Contract, the Scope of Work, and in accordance with the Project Schedule and is to be achieved whilst maintaining the standards of safety and quality defined in the company procedures.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibility:

• Seeks guidance from the Construction Manager and Fabrication Management as appropriate before making critical and important decisions.
• Highlights changes in the project scope of work, methods and execution strategies to the Construction Manager.
• Provides direction and makes decisions in pursuit of the project and area goals and objectives.
• Provides project leadership to the yard Supervisors.
• Sets standards of behavior and exemplifies the standards.
• Solicits ideas from the team members to overcome any difficulties that may be encountered during the implementation of the project.
• Directs and coordinates the construction team in the execution of the project.
• Fosters an environment for building team morale and builds consensus within the team.
• Holds the members of the construction team accountable for work performed per their roles and responsibilities.
• Clearly delegates actions and responsibilities and defines deliverable requirements in terms of both scope and schedule to team members.
• Concentrates on carrying out the role of the Construction Superintendent and empowers subordinates to have independence in performing their functions. Becomes involved in all the important decisions on the project.
• Facilitates timely problem resolution with the construction team members.
• Facilitates the interface between the Construction team, Safety and Quality departments.
• Plans the project to a level of detail to enable sound decision making and clear definition of daily and weekly requirements to those executing the work.
• Forecasts tools and equipment needs for the scope of work being undertaken.
• Identifies specific training needs in advance of the requirement.
• Reviews the plan weekly in consultation with the Project Construction Manager and other team members. Agrees and confirms the target plan activities and manning requirements.
• Demonstrates good planning and organization on day to day activities.
• Obtains commitment from the Project Construction team on the timely delivery of data to ensure the labor force allocated to the work is productively used.
• Monitors construction productivity and schedule performance and investigates reasons for less than satisfactory performance. Institutes measures for improvement.
• Reviews the project progress and productivity with the Project Construction Manager.
• Attends project review meetings as required by the Construction Manager.
• Appraises all direct reports, provides recommendations of training and development.

Qualifications
Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with min 5 years proven track record in Senior Supervisory roles within the shipbuilding and or conversion industries or min 7 years in Senior Supervisory roles within shipbuilding and or conversion industries.
• Ability to speak Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage.
• Previous experience in construction of stress skin designed structures a significant advantage with highest preference related to construction of HVDC offshore platforms.
